Explore the quietness of the wild archipelago
Explore the Stockholm archipelago and sleep among the pine trees.
There is something special about
waking up on an uninhabited island.
We take the boat to an uninhabited island in the Stockholm archipelago, camp in the air and cook over an open fire. At dusk we crawl into our tents and fall asleep to the sound of the pine trees and the sea next to us.
The next day we make breakfast out on the rocks while the morning coffee simmers and the islands slowly come to life. Maybe there will be a dip in the sea before we pack up our camp and say goodbye to our new special place in the archipelago.
Price: 3 800 SEKÂ per person (min. 7 600 SEK).
Time: 24 hours
Number: Up to 5 people plus guide
Keep in mind that nature is wild. It is important that you have good mobility to disembark from the boat properly, and getting in and out of the tents can sometimes require some climbing and acrobatics.
We have a minimum age of 12 years for this adventure.
Our archipelago adventures usually take place on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 1 to September 30. For this particular adventure, you and your party are the only guests and it is therefore carried out on request. Send an email to reservation@vaxholmsbedandbreakfast.se and we will find a date that suits you.

Camping in a tree
It is not as difficult as it seems. When we arrive, we take time to find a good place for our "flying tree tents". Then we help to set them up, attaching them to trees or rocks. Here we can challenge ourselves and be creative together. Should we put them on a slope or maybe as high as we can? The only two rules are that it shall be safe for everyone and gentle on nature so that we don't leave any scars or traces behind.
Things to consider
Nature is wild. It is important that you have good mobility so that you can disembark from the boat safely. Getting in and out of the tents can sometimes also require some climbing and acrobatics.
Our day in the archipelago
Gathering at 10.00
We meet at our home, at Vaxholm's Bed & Breakfast where we go through the route plan based on weather, learn to read the charts and go through safety procedures. Then we help to pack the boat. This way we all have control of the equipment and know where everything is stowed. During the trip to our island, we have lunch in the boat; freshly baked baguettes with good fillings, organic vegetables, home smoked salmon and something sweet to round off. There is much to see and discover throughout the trip. Feel free to ask.
Arrivalat the island, about 12.30
When we arrive, we dock and start to get organized. We look for some suitable attachment points for our tents and then help to set up camp in the air. This takes time. The more careful and creative we are, the more fun the camp will be. We celebrate our first base camp in the air with an archipelago coffee. Then we go exploring.
Afternoon and evening
Once we feel settled, there will be plenty of time to explore the island and its surroundings, together or on our own. Later in the evening we will cook over an open fire. Organic and locally produced, we set the menu when you book.
The summer evenings are long and bright and we take advantage of the moment and learn more about nature and the archipelago. When we feel ready for the night, you crawl into your sleeping bags and rock to rest under the pine tops. With the weightless feeling you get from sleeping a bit up.
The next day
In the morning we make breakfast out on the rocks while the morning coffee simmers, the sun rises and the islands slowly come to life. Maybe a morning dip in the sea before we pack up our camp and say goodbye to your new special place in the archipelago.
Back in Vaxholm around 11.30
On the way home we take a detour so that you have the opportunity to see more of Vaxholm's many islands and landmarks. We dock at the pier, not far from our B&B, just before lunch.
