There ought to be no novelty – yet we tend to be just as surprised every year when the first snowstorm sweeps “the whole world” in a white fluffy blanket. You know that day when you look out the window in the morning and realise that it is only to reschedule everything in the calendar, for it is not much point in even trying to get off to work and school. The street is completely snowed and the snow plow will have to do all day at least before the roads are somewhat navigable. Today was the day – and I love it!
Easy for me to do perhaps, as I work from home and won’t have to go anywhere, but still … Isn’t it amazingly beautiful with all this white snow? And pretty fun too, if you like the kids and Jesper love snowball fights and building snow lanterns. Even Zelda (the dog) thinks the snow is a blast and rush around like a happy fool and drills down her nose deep in the fresh snow.
Indoors I light another fire in the stove and feel a hint of Advent mood. Amazing. How is that possible? Just a week ago or so I was raking leaves and making wreaths in the autumn sun, and now I’m here humming Advent songs… Crazy. But kind of cozy too. Perhaps I shall start to make some christmas sweets this weekend. We will have a stand on the Vaxholm Christmas market on the 3rd and 4th of December, and except our towels and pillows in the Vaxholm fabric, cutting boards with vaxholm patterns and beautiful plaids I plan to sell homemade marmalade and some other goodies. I’m thinking tart apple and saffron jam. Wouldn’t that be a delicious with a piece Rindö Ädel, the lovely blue cheese from the local dairy at Rindö?
