The first day of 2017 here in Vaxholm was a lovely spring day. The sun shone and even warmed a tiny little bit. If I did not know better I would have thought it was the beginning of March and not January 1. When the B&B guests had checked out, we took a long walk around the island the whole family and took the opportunity to take a few New Year pictures.
I love New Year’s Day. Unlike Christmas and New Year’s Eve which are often full of expectations New Year’s Day is a delicate combination of “day-after-day,” and new beginnings. A day for taking long walks, socialize and reflect on the year that past and perhaps plan and dream a little about the year ahead. For my and B & B’s part, I hope that 2017 will bring plenty of time with the family and many nice guests. When I take a look in the bookings for the coming Summer I find many returning guests there. I really look forward to meet them again! The garden will get an extra lift (I’ll tell you more about that later) and I’m also planning to learn how to take better pictures. I have wanted to study photography for a long time, but now it will finally do it! In late January I will begin a photography course at Fotografiska. After that it will hopefully be both more and better images from Vaxholm and the archipelago here on the blog. What are you hoping for in 2017?
