Sometimes it is good to be the guest yourself to feel for what you appreciate, and what can be done better. Therefore, Jesper and I occasionally go away to other B & Bs and guest houses to be inspired. On Monday we joined business with pleasure. The children were going to a weeklong skateboard camp in Örebro. Not far away from there is Katrinelunds Gästgiveri & Sjökrog, a guesthouse with a seaside tavern that I’ve been a little curious for a while. All guests of our B & B would stay at least one more day, so instead of going straight home when we left the kids we took a sightseeing day in Örebro and then checked in to Katrinelund.
It is really beautifully located, right on the shores of Lake Hjälmaren just a few swedish miles north of Örebro. Beds were comfortable, the breakfast good and I understand why the tavern is listed in the White Guide. As usual when Jesper and I are off we got our heads full of ideas and began to brainstorm on things we could develop here, at ours. Hopefully some thoughts will stay in the “idea phase”, but some of them will probably become reality. More precisely, what I’m thinking of, I do not want to reveal now, but I can say as much as the whole day today, Jesper cleared and grubbed in the garden shed. For couldn’t it be used in a better and more creative way than simply storing utensils and “junk”? ;)
