This week we have been on autumn holidays, my family and I. Since I always work in the B & B in the summer we usually take the chance to go away somewhere together when the schools have their autumn brake instead. This year we headed to Gran Canaria and a lovely apartment we rented right at the beach in San Augustin. It’s been a week of snorkeling, wave surfing, calamari and sun sun sun. We really could not have wished for better weather. So now we are charged to take us through November. It’s not usually my favorite month; dark as the winter time strikes making the evenings even shorter and grey when the leaves fall. But right now I really crave a little where I’m sitting on the balcony listening to the waves rolling along the beach. Spoilt and rude of course and maybe a bit of ”How dumb can you be?”. But as always when I’m gone I realize how lovely it is at home too. How much I actually love the archipelago and the nature just where we have the pleasure to live. That it is pretty good with changing seasons and that the darkness can actually be quite cozy. The children think we should move to Gran Canaria. They want to snorkel and surf more, more, more. I myself think it’s been lovely to be here, but now I want to go home, put on my cap, feel the fresh wind on the face and light a fire in the fireplace. November, you are so welcome!
