Now it’s really dark out there when it’s time to get up in the morning to bake bread for the guests breakfast baskets. I admit that it tends to be a little tough to get out of bed. But if I’ve just come down the stairs, I usually get started. I light all the candles, turn on P1 on the radio and suddenly the dark chewy October morning exchange for a contemplative stillness. The rest of the house sleeps, now it’s just me, the radio and the bread that is slowly baked in the oven.
Today will be an out door day. It feels like the whole garden is full of leaves and withered flower stems to be removed (but I will save some of them just because they are so beautiful when there is frost in them in the winter). New tulip bulbs and allium will get in the earth as well. It is so lovely in May-June when the flowerbed is full of them. And then Linda Sundgren who has written archipelago crime novel “Ondska utan ånger” (“Evil without regret”), which takes place here in Vaxholm will come and visit. If you have not read it so I can heartily recommend you to take a cup of tea and snuggling down with the couch one day when the wind howls around the corner. You can find it in our online shop. I’m afraid it’s all in swedish though…
Have a great Friday everyone!
Ps. You haven’t missed that it’s Vaxholm’s annual cultural evening tonight, have you? Lots of great events all over Vaxholm!
