It is raining today. Not a sweet summer rain, it rather pours down from the sky. One of those days when you would rather stay in bed and read all day, you know. But also a perfect day to visit the The Vaxholm Fortress Museum at the Citadel and then take an Afternoon tea with scones, canapés and pastries at Bistro Magasinet. I hope that’s what our English guests will do today!
Personally I spend the day baking breakfast rolls and listen to the radio. I bake almost all the bread for our breakfast baskets myself. Partly because I enjoy it. But most of all because it’s so much nicer with home baked bread than the ones you find in the grocery store. As an extra bonus it smells just wonderful in the house when I’m doing it.
I usually make the buns in the evening, let them ferment in the refrigerator overnight and then swish it into the oven in the morning just in time for breakfast. But today I load a little extra in the freezer too. It’s nice to know that it’s there for sunnier days when you’d rather be at the beach or on the sea than staying at home in the heat and bake.
